I just wanted to share a recent email from our league Safety Officer, regarding the current WLL Covid quarantine requirements. As you know there has been a rise in cases in the schools recently, so I hope the information below is helpful if you had any questions on the current policies.
Also, we are very excited for the game at Bee's Stadium on June 5th and need to know if all of the players are planning on being there for the event. Information should have already been sent to you and your families about getting tickets to the event. Please let me know if your child can NOT make it to the event, the league wants to make sure that each team has enough players to field a team.
From Safety Officer, Gary St. Hilaire:
Wethersfield Little League has implemented the CDC guidance for Covid quarantine requirements. Since the guidance varies by vaccination status, we are asking parents to review the guidelines (https://www.cdc.gov/ coronavirus/2019-ncov/your- health/quarantine-isolation. html#) and take the appropriate action. Should a player test positive for Covid, the parents must notify the coach as soon as possible. Coaches should notify the Safety Officer (Gary St. Hilaire) and send a notification to the parents of the team in case they want to personally take additional actions (ie. Masking, testing, etc).
The current CDC guidelines state that a vaccinated player who tests positive for Covid should quarantine for 5 days. After the 5 days, they can return to school and WLL activities but must wear a mask for 5 additional days. Please continue to monitor the CDC guidelines as they do change.
Additionally, any child that does not attend school for any illness should not participate in WLL activities until they are cleared to return to school.
